 #1 - Aloe Vera works particularly well to halt hair loss, improve the growth of new hair, and thicken the remaining locks. Aloe juice can be applied topically onto balding scalp areas to prevent hair from thinning and boost hair re-growth. 

#2 - In the East Indies, aloes are used as a varnish, to preserve wood from worms and other insects; and skins from insect bites, and even living animals are anointed with it for the same reason.
