How to sell for people who don't like selling

If you want to grow a business, you need to find more customers.

To find more customers, you need to do more sales work and do it better.

What should you do if you don't like sales work

There is one way to sell African products without doing sales work the way you are thinking of it. This is found at the end of this article. You can have a lot more success with a few very basic practices shown first though.

The first thing you can do is to stop telling yourself that you don't like sales work (or that you are not good at sales).

There is nothing that needs to be hard about showing or telling someone else about a product that you like. You probably do this every day; and you probably enjoy it. So why does "sales" feel different?

You probably are just nervous that people will think you are being pushy or something. The best salespeople today are not pushy at all. Sales work is simply letting people know what is available to them; giving them reasons why they want to own these things; and then letting them make the decision to do what they want. Don't make sales work feel like anything more than it really is.

The second thing you need to do is to practice.

Learn as much as you can about your products, and the benefits that they give to other people. Start talking to yourself in the car or in the shower. Practice what you would say, or just talk about your products and the good things that they do for people. Tell close friends and relatives about your business and about your products, and why you like them.

You can also think of questions to ask people. Great sales people spend more time listening and asking questions than they spend telling other people about their products. Memorize questions that you can ask people to help you sell more. Think about what people will say (and how you will respond) when you ask them questions like these:

"Have you ever used shea butter (or African soaps before ... What did it do for you?"
"Do you own any African art... Why do you think that some people like it so much?"
"What do you look for the most when you shop for clothes?"

The final thing that you can do is to start and to keep trying.

The more that you interact with other people about your business and about your products, the better you will be. Show your products to other people. Ask them if these are things that they would like, or that would help them.

Here's the easiest way to sell without selling

If you want an even easier way to get started, you can give away samples.
It doesn't get any easier than this, and it really works: if you do things right. To find out the way to give away samples so that people buy more from you, see the full explanation on the web page with our fast starter kit.
