Make Your Own Moroccan Mud Scrub

10/02/2009 09:11

This scrub will gently exfoliate dead skin cells leaving you with fresh, soft, glowing skin!

What You Need:

1 tablespoon Moroccan mud clay

1 cup salt

1 teaspoon honey

1 tablespoon rose water or regular water

How You Make It:

1. Combine the clay and salt and stir well. Set aside.

2. In a separate container, mix together the rose water and honey. (If your honey is stiff, try melting it in the microwave for just a few seconds as this may make the rose water mix in more readily. Don't leave honey in the microwave for too long, and don't microwave honey too many times as repeated heating will cause it to become hard and unmanageable.)

3. Mix together the clay/salt mixture and the honey/rose hydrosol mixture until you get a nice loose paste. Add more rose hydrosol a little bit at a time if the mixture refuses to stick together. Don't add too much rose hydrosol or all of the salt will melt and you'll have more of a liquid than a scrub texture. This should stay together well so that you can use it by placing a scoopful in the palm of your hand and massaging your body with it. Start by standing in a dry tub or shower and gently massaging the scrub over your feet and ankles, and move up your legs to your thighs, one at a time. Then scrub your hands, elbows and upper arms paying special attention to your elbows. Gently massage the rest of your body. You can include your neck if you'd like, but omit massaging your face if the sea salt is too course for your skin. Shower or bathe as usual and follow with a rich moisturizer.

4. Moroccan mud scrub should be used immediately, or you can refrigerate it for a day or two, no longer, and use after it warms to room temperature. To get your own Moroccan mud just Click Here. To find more ways to use natural African skin care just visit the Africa Imports web site.
