1 1/2 lbs. steak 1 1/2 lbs. fresh spinach, chopped 1 medium onion, sliced 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced 1 cup oil 1 1/2 tbsp. tomato paste 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 medium smoked herring, de-boned (optional) How To Make Your Stew:
Cut the steak into bite size pieces and season with salt and pepper. In medium heavy saucepan, brown meat in oil, turning occasionally, until meat is fork tender. Remove meat and add remaining ingredients, except for spinach. Cook for 15 minutes, then add spinach. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
