Tanzania Union Day - April 26th

April 26th is the 25th anniversary of the day that Zanzibar and Tanganyika unified to make Tanzania in 1964. The two parts of the union attained independence from Britain separately, the mainland in 1961 and Zanzibar in 1963. To help yourself remember Tanzania; and the struggle for freedom of other African nations; here are two famous Tanzanian proverbs: "We start as fools and become wise through experience." "The roaring lion kills no game."
