What to Do with Oats When You're Sick of Oatmeal | MyRecipes

The great thing about natural skin care is that a lot of the most beneficial health treatments are in your own kitchen! Take this oat bath for example; oats are soothing and anti-inflammatory, so they help to relieve dry, itching, or irritated skin. They also have amino acid in them that helps to bind water and moisturize the skin. They're hypo-allergenic and almost everyone has them! Here's a special way you can take advantage of those oats!

1. Put 1/2 cup of oats into a food processor until powdered, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you'd like. Many essential oils can add health benefits to your bath as well.

2. Using a funnel, pour oats into an old pantyhose, clean sock or muslin bag and secure with a tie or string.

3. To use, run a warm or hot bath, put the oat bag into it, and get in. You can use it as a washcloth (with or without soap) and rub it on your skin, making it softer and smoother. Soak for as long as you like, then when your ready, towel off and follow with your favorite rich moisturizer. It's a great way to de-stress before bed or before you start your day!
