Both white and yellow shea butter are excellent for skin. Shea Butter naturally contains vitamins A and E, and is excellent for dry, sensitive skin. But what is the difference between colors?
White is the natural color of shea butter once it has been made. It is not completely white, but an off-white color. Yellow shea butter is created with an African bark known as borututu. Once white shea butter is mixed with the borututu, it becomes yellow. It is great for relieving pain and reducing inflammation. It has its own distinct scent that is different from white shea butter.
Both colors of shea butter are great for your skin. But be careful--some sellers will mix other ingredients to achieve the yellow color, such as turmeric. If you're looking for the traditional African yellow shea butter, make sure you verify the ingredients. That way, you get exactly what you're looking for.
