There are three parts of a fragrance oil – head, heart, and base. Headnotes are the first thing you notice in the fragrance. Heart notes are the dominant and most noticeable part of the aroma. Base notes are the longest lasting.

 

The most common headnotes are citrus scents for their potency and assertiveness. Light, sweet, and airy, florals are commonly used for heart notes. The most common base notes are woody scents for their long-lasting pungency.

For head notes, you’ll most likely want to use fresh, crisp, and rejuvenating citrus scents. We’ve got a wide range of citrus scent essential oils on offer. Get The Materials To Make Your Fragrance Oils

Once you’ve chosen which combination of oils you want to use, it’s time to gather the right materials to make your fragrance oil.

Start Mixing The Oils

To make one batch of fragrance oil, you’ll need to use your dropper or pipette to put 80 drops of your chosen carrier oil into the mix, along with 20 drops of your chosen essential oils. We recommend using 5 drops for the head and heart notes and 10 drops for the base notes.

 

When mixing, don’t use more than 20% concentration (20 drops out of 80 drops) of essential oils in your carrier oil. Seal the bottle once you’ve done this and shake well. Don’t forget to record the exact details of your recipe to make sure you can recreate it.

 

How To Use Your New Fragrance Oil

If you are not familiar with applying fragrance oils, we recommend you either spray or roll the bottle behind your ears, on your neck, and on your chest. A mistake a lot of people make is applying fragrance to the wrists – there is a lot of blood flow on the wrists, which makes the scent evaporate more quickly.
