How are you treating your customers?

“I really want to thank you for exceptional customer service.  I trade with many vendors of African products and I have yet to find anyone to match your service.  Everyone sells products but it seems like customer service is a dying art.  I am very satisfied with everything.  I was missing two items from my previous order but received them with my order today.”

What is the time when someone is most likely to buy from you? It's when they have just bought something else from you. When someone first becomes your customer; this is when they are most likely to want to buy something else.

What this means for you is that you want to have a system in place for following up with each new customer. When someone buys something from you for the first time, don't just wait for them to come back again when they are ready. Instead, send them a thank you note or email. Follow up to make sure that they are happy with everything. Phone to let them know what else you have that is similar. Let people know what new products you have now.

There are some things that you do that need to be done; and there are some things which can make a real difference. Nurturing your new customers is one of the most effective ways to spend your time that you have available. It is amazing how little effort many businesses spend on their customers. Don't let this happen to you.

It is amazing how few people have a systematic way of following up with their customers. This is not just another way to grow your business, it is one of the best ways you can use your time. Because most other people are not doing this, you can make your business stand apart even more when you do.
