Unlike soap you buy at the grocery store, African black soap is a natural product, and can spoil. Air and moisture carry bacteria and mold that can ruin your soap.

Before you use your soap, keep it in its original wrappings and store in a cool, dry place – a dresser drawer works well.
If you buy a large bar, cut it into small pieces and use them one at a time.
Keep the pieces you’re not using in a resealable plastic bag or container. You can also wrap it tightly in a clean cloth.

What do you do with black soap after you’ve washed with it? It must be dried and stored until the next time you use it.

Put the wet soap in a soap dish with a draining rack. If you can, put it in a different room so it will dry more quickly.
Once the soap is dry, wrap it in clean cloth and keep it in the refrigerator or a drawer until you need it again.
Never store black soap in the bathroom or kitchen cabinet, where it will be exposed to moisture.

Keep your black soap cool and dry, and it will stay fresh for a year or more.
