Sales Tax

The United States Supreme Court ruling on June 21, 2018 in the case of South Dakota vs. Wayfair allows states to require online sellers to collect sales tax if they do a significant amount of business in the state.

The states where Africa Imports is currently collecting sales tax or will be collecting sales tax in 2023 include:

Other states may be added to this list as our level of sales activity in a particular state changes over time.

If you are a wholesaler or re-seller of our items or have non-profit or other tax-exempt status, you may be able to make purchases from Africa Imports on a tax-free basis.

You will need to:

-         Obtain a valid sales/use tax permit issued by your state (or have non-profit or other tax-exempt status)

-         E-mail or send us the required documentation to verify your permit or tax-exempt status

To be designated as a tax-exempt customer please e-mail the following to us at contact@africaimports.com:

-          A copy of your sales tax permit or proof of non-profit status

-          The tax-exempt form provided by your state
