The following tip was just sent in from one of our wholesale customers.

One of the things that has helped me with my business is to have a discussion night once a month. A speaker comes to my shop and talks for an hour or so and then the rest of the time is for others to discuss the subject of the evening and mingle. This is a free event, open to the public. I serve light refreshments and provide samples of merchandise especially giving thought to what the speaker of the evening’s topic is about. Since this is free and open to the public, the newspapers, magazines, email lists, websites and so on print the notices for free. This is a great way to network, meet people of like-minds, sell merchandise, etc.
