As we celebrate Black History this month it's a good time to remember those who came before us, making the way for freedom and equality in this country.

Dr. Bernard Harris

On this day (February 9th) in 1995, Dr. Bernard Harris became the first African American astronaut to walk in space. He logged 198 hours, 29 minutes in space, completed 129 orbits, and traveled over 2.9 million miles. This accomplished his childhood dream of his first walk in space, becoming the first African-American to do so. He dedicated his achievements to all African Americans. Today we admire Bernard Harris's achievements and look forward to more dreams becoming a reality for others across the world. To find more articles about Black History and more just Click Here.
