A rare museum collectors item from southeastern Tanzania, created by the Makonde people. Worn at initiation ceremonies, this body mask is worn by a male dancer who imitates the struggles of childbirth during the ceremony. A unique carving from a single piece of wood created to fit around the body of the dancer symbolizing fertility and womanhood. According to legend, the first man had carved a woman figure into a tree which, when he woke up, had become a real woman. Our goal is to charge exactly the same amount that UPS or the Post Office charges for shipping your package. Our computer can not always get the exact amount correctly, however. In fact, we normally charge customers less than UPS charges us for shipping costs.
Returns:
You can return any item for almost any reason within 30 days of the original purchase date. However, there is a 10% restocking fee for returns made after 30 days. We do not accept returns beyond 60 days of the purchase date. Please include the invoice with your return, as returns received without proper documentation may result in delays and fees.
