Waist beads play an important role in West African culture as an accessory worn by women to mark their femininity. They are designed to accentuate the curves of a woman’s waist and hips. They aid in sensuality and the feeling of feminine power. They are made of beads and stones that have traditional symbolism. They are also used as a sort of scale because they will become tighter and be worn higher on the waist if you gain weight and they will become looser and drape lower on your waist if you loose weight. They aid in achieving better posture because they remind you of the alignment of your back, hips and stomach.  38-40" in length. Secures with a barrel clasps. Made in Kenya.

    I didn't like that it didn't specify the size, I can't wear them but will have to sell or give away.
